The aim of the GeekOut community is to bring you a one stop firehose destination where all the most compelling stories, news and facts of interest to geeks like us get shared 24/7. At the same time each post makes it easy for you to share your opinions and knowledge with a like-minded community.
Anyone can submit posts on GeekOut. When you do, make sure you are sharing something that meets our submission guidelines.
Submission Rules:
What to post
- Breaking news stories such as 'NASA announced it discovered liquid water on Mars'
- TIL (Today I Learned) type of posts.
- 'Happening now' type of posts that inform people when something is happening live eg. 'Stephen Hawking does AMA live on Reddit right now'.
- Sharing images that are now surfacing on the internet for the 1st time eg. The Apollo Archive sharing 8,000+ new pictures of the Moon.
- Sharing videos like brand new Ted talks or Youtube videos that quench a geeks thirst for knowledge, at least for a few minutes.
Posting Rules
- Post only content that clearly falls within the realm of technology, space, gadgets, science, machines or discoveries.
- When sharing breaking news, include a link to your source. Do not copy/paste an entire article. You can add citations and quotes.
- Before you post, use the search function to check whether it has already been posted by someone else. Do not re-post.
- Do not create posts requesting advice or asking a question. GeekOut is not a Q&A forum or advice discussion board.
